The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulation in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance. Improvements were found at this inspection and the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations.

Summerview is a care home registered to accommodate up to 6 people who have a learning disability who require nursing or personal care. The service does not provide nursing care. There were 6 people living at the service at the time of inspection. The accommodation for people was over 2 floors with access to a large garden and easy access to the local community.

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way which was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. There were enough staff who had received appropriate training to meet people’s needs. People were cared for by staff who had been recruited and employed after appropriate checks had been completed. Staff worked well with health care professionals to support people’s mental and physical well-being. People were supported to take their medicines by staff who had the correct skills to support them. Staff supported people to engage in their local community with activities they enjoyed.

People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.

The registered manager had systems in place to provide good oversight and governance at the service.
