The last rating for this service was good (report published 05 September 2018). We undertook this inspection to review the quality of the service and to ensure it met regulations.
Improvement was needed to ensure records for prescribed medicines administered via a patch were completed. Quality and monitoring systems were not always effectively operated or embedded to identify, manage and mitigate some environmental risks. For example, exposed pipes and topical medicines not being stored safely.
Risks associated with people’s care were assessed and staff understood their responsibilities to keep people safe. Staff supported people in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.
