We found 3 breaches of regulations relating to dignity and respect, safe care and treatment, and governance.
Risks to people were not identified and mitigated by the provider in a timely way, and there were shortfalls in the care planning and risk assessment processes. We also identified concerns relating to infection control, medication and the environment. Whilst staff engaged positively with people, observations showed people were not always treated with dignity and respect, including as a result of some closed culture indicators which still needed to be fully addressed. There had been management change and instability at the service which had taken the provider’s resources away from the day-to-day running of the care home and impacted on the governance and oversight required to ensure the safety and quality of the service. However, a new management team were in post and committed to making rapid improvements at the location to support good outcomes for people.
In instances where CQC has decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we will publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded.
