Miranda House is operated by 2 providers, Aria Healthcare Group LTD and Care UK Care Services Limited who are dual registered. Both providers share equal responsibility for delivering services at the site. Care UK Care Services Limited registered on 26 January 2026 and this is the first assessment under their registration. Under Aria Healthcare Group LTD this service was rated requires improvement at their last assessment, report published 9 June 2026.

The provider had made improvements since our last assessment and were no longer in breach of regulations for safe care and treatment and good governance.

Governance was effective with checks and audits being completed by many different leaders and staff. Any areas for improvement were added to action plans and reviewed weekly by the provider and leaders at the service. Statutory notifications to Care Quality Commission (CQC) had been submitted when needed.

Medicines were now managed and stored safely and people had reviews of medicines completed by their GP and where needed specialist dementia professionals. People had access to various healthcare professionals which helped them manage their health conditions and needs.

People’s care plans were personalised and regularly reviewed. They contained information on risks to people’s safety and provided staff with guidance on how to provide safe care and support. There were some areas which needed more details such as mental capacity assessments and end of life care planning. We shared this feedback with the provider and leaders.

People had their own rooms and access to various communal areas. There was access to a secure garden from the ground floor. Improvement had been made to the environment to create a calming and enabling service. This included pictorial signage to help people living with dementia find their way around. The service was clean throughout.

Staff had been recruited safely and there were enough staff to provide safe care. Staff had inductions when starting work and ongoing training. Additional support such as supervisions and work-based qualifications were also provided. There was a culture of learning at the service and a transparency when things went wrong. Staff regularly discussed incidents, changes to people’s needs and ideas for improvements in daily meetings and handovers. Staff said they had good leaders at the service and felt well supported.

Checks for the premises and equipment were completed regularly and staff had training on areas such as fire evacuation. The building and equipment was well maintained with external contractors completing regular servicing. We observed staff using equipment safely and also using safe techniques for areas such as moving and handling.
