The inspection was to follow up on the breaches identified at our last inspection which was undertaken in Autumn 2025. At the last inspection the service was rated inadequate and was in breach of regulations relating to safe care and treatment, environmental safety, incident management, staffing levels, training, supervision, and compliance with the Mental Capacity Act 2025 (MCA).
At this inspection although we saw improvement the service has remained in breach of Regulation 17 relating to good governance. The provider must embed these changes, maintain them, and strengthen leadership oversight.
Improvements were made to the environment. Safety incidents were investigated, recorded, and used to improve practice. Risks to people’s health and safety were assessed. Overall, care records contained relevant information and guidance for staff. Where people were deprived of their liberty, most decisions were made appropriately with capacity assessments and best interest processes. However, we found these had not been completed for some specific decisions.
People received care and support from kind and caring staff who had sufficient training to carry out their roles effectively. People received their medicines as prescribed and got effective care and attention to manage their physical health conditions. Safe recruitment processes were followed, and enough staff were available to meet people’s needs.
This service has been in Special Measures since 6 January 2026. The provider demonstrated improvements have been made. The service is no longer rated as inadequate overall or in any of the key questions. Therefore, this service is no longer in Special Measures.
