The service was able to demonstrate how it was meeting the principles of Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture. People were supported to live as independently as possible, make choices about their lives and take part in their local communities. Staff promoted people's dignity, independence and wellbeing.
People spoke positively about the support they received. We observed warm and respectful interactions and found staff knew people well. People were involved in decisions about their care, maintained important relationships, accessed activities they enjoyed and were supported to achieve goals that mattered to them.
The service had effective arrangements for recruitment, medicines management and staff training. Staff spoke positively about local leadership and professionals described good partnership working. Some improvements were needed to further personalise records, strengthen outcome monitoring and improve Mental Capacity Act recording. Some staff also raised concerns about communication from senior leaders and wider organisational oversight.
Overall, people received good-quality, person-centred support from staff who knew them well. Improvements were needed to strengthen governance and record keeping, but people were achieving positive outcomes and receiving care that met their needs.
