The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulates the personal care and support that people may receive. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided.

We completed this assessment remotely, which means we did not physically visit the office location.

People and their relatives consistently told us they felt safe and well supported. Feedback described staff as kind, compassionate and respectful, often going “above and beyond” to meet people’s needs. Care was generally person-centred, with care plans reflecting people’s preferences, routines and what mattered to them. Positive examples demonstrated staff identified changes in people’s health needs and acted promptly, with good partnership working with external professionals. Leadership was viewed positively, with the registered manager described as approachable, responsive and proactive, and there were some systems in place to monitor care delivery, including spot checks and continuity tracking.

However, there were areas where some improvement was required. The recording of risk assessments were not consistently robust. Also, incident and accident trackers were not always being analysed for patterns and trends, which meant there could have been missed opportunity to mitigate risk. The provider had already begun working on a more robust process to capture this data, before our inspection took place.

Capacity and consent were not always clearly assessed or recorded. Recruitment processes were generally robust, however there were some gaps in evidence such as identity verification, references, DBS documentation

, and health declarations. The provider has since amended this, and staff turnover was low.

The service demonstrated a strong caring culture with committed staff and positive leadership. However, some improvements were required to strengthen governance and oversight processes to ensure consistently safe and high-quality care.
