What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 31 March 2025 (assessment visit 23 January 2025). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
The assessment began on and 30th January and concluded on 10th February 2025. Care Needs Stockport Ltd is a domiciliary care service providing personal care to 78 people at the time of inspection. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider wider social care provided. During this assessment we looked at 31 Quality statements. At this assessment we spoke with 13 staff members including director/nominated individual, registered manager, care -coordinator, administrative staff and support workers. We found the provider had systems in place to help ensure people did not suffer abuse or come to avoidable harm. Staff we spoke to knew how to keep people safe and report concerns. People’s medicines were managed overall safely; however, we have made recommendations regarding how people’s medicines are recorded. Staff received an induction, ongoing training, and felt supported by the management team. Staff encouraged people to be independent, treated people with dignity and respect and offered people choice. People's needs were assessed and people were involved in their care planning. Some care plans lacked person-centred details, and we have made a recommendation to the provider regarding this. Feedback from people and staff was regularly sought. People and staff felt they could speak up and raise their concerns. There were processes in place regarding the provider’s oversight. However, these have not always identified areas of learning and action taken as a result. We have made recommendations to the provider regarding this.
