What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 1 August 2024 (assessment visit 25 April 2024). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Date of assessment: 29 April to 14 May 2024.
This assessment was in response to CQC receiving information of concern.
During the assessment, we found people’s care needs had been identified and assessed as part of their initial assessment. Information to guide staff on the management of people’s risks were accessed through the provider’s electronic care system. However, staff would benefit from more detailed guidance in the management of people’s risks and early warning signs of the decline of people’s health. This would reinforce staff training and ensure changes in people’s health were escalated in a timely manner.

Partners and stakeholders raised no concerns about the management and timings of people’s care calls.
Since our last inspection, the provider had enhanced their systems to monitor the quality of people’s care and the staff who supported them. However, further development was required in the monitoring of staff development. This would ensure staff training and support needs were being met in line with the provider’s policies.

Safe
Good
Staff and managers worked with people, relatives, key professionals and stakeholders to understand people’s needs before they started to support people. They identified people’s risks and ensured staff understood how to support people safely. However, staff would benefit from more direction in people’s care plans on how to mitigate people’s risks.
There were sufficient, safely recruited staff to support people. Staff had received appropriate training to support people’s care and risk requirements. Staff felt supported but some staff felt they did not always receive regular individual support meetings.
Systems and policies were in place to monitor and guide staff to ensure people’s personal care needs were being delivered safely.
-
Well-led
No rating
The provider had made improvements to their governance and auditing systems to help them monitor the quality of care being delivered to people and the skills of staff who supported them. However, the provider needed to further strengthen some of their processes to ensure people’s care records were sufficiently detailed to explicitly direct staff in the support people required. Further improvement was needed in the management of staff’s supervision meetings and communication with staff.
People were confident in the management of the service and felt any concerns raised were acted on.
