At the time of our assessment 74 people were living at the home. The home is divided into 3 units each supporting people with different needs including nursing, dementia and Korsakoff’s. We found people were supported safely by caring staff that knew them well. Staff were appropriately trained to meet people’s needs. Staff had good knowledge of medicines, however, we found some concerns around supporting documentation that were addressed immediately by the provider. We did find instances where risks had not always been assessed and written guidance was not available to staff, however there was limited impact on people, and the registered manager promptly put these in place.
Referrals for additional input from healthcare professionals were made appropriately to support people to maintain their health and wellbeing. The registered manager understood their duties and responsibilities and staff spoke positively about the support they received from them.
