What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 1 December 2025 (assessment visit 22 July 2025). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Date of Assessment: We visited the home on 28 October, 3 November and 18 November 2025
and continued to view evidence remotely. The service is a nursing home providing support to
older people living with dementia, nursing needs, and physical disabilities.
This assessment was to follow up on actions from the last assessment in March 2025. At that
assessment, the provider was in breach of legal regulations in relation to safe care and
treatment, person centred care, safeguarding service users from improper treatment, staffing
and governance. Improvements were found at this inspection, and the provider was no longer in
breach of regulations.
Staff demonstrated a strong learning culture, supported by proactive incident reporting and
reflective practice. People told us they felt safe, and safeguarding arrangements were robust.
The environment was clean and well maintained, staffing levels were appropriate, and infection
control and medicines management were effective.
Care promoted positive outcomes and quality of life. People’s needs were assessed and
reviewed regularly, and care was evidence-based. Staff collaborated with external professionals,
supporting individuals to live healthier lives. Consent was appropriately obtained, and staff
understood the principles of the Mental Capacity Act (2005).
People were treated with kindness, dignity, and respect. Care was personalised, and individuals were supported to express their identity and preferences. Creative initiatives, such as themed environments and tailored activities, enhanced wellbeing. Staff were attentive to immediate needs, and workforce wellbeing was prioritised.

People were generally involved in planning and decision-making, and staff went above and beyond to create meaningful experiences, including special events and personal milestones. Communication was inclusive, and feedback was actively sought and used to improve the service. Equity in access and outcomes were evident.
Leadership was visible and effective. A positive culture and continuous improvement were becoming embedded. Governance systems were strengthened with new trackers, and staff felt supported and empowered to speak up. Diversity and inclusion were promoted, and partnerships with families and the community were strong. The provider demonstrated a clear commitment to learning and innovation.
Staff knew people’s needs well, and care was mostly person-centred; however, a small number of people’s care plans lacked all the detail required for new staff to ensure consistent support was delivered.
