Staff and leaders had a shared vision and culture which placed people at the centre of the service.

Staff managed people’s medicines safely. People were treated with kindness and compassion, and staff protected their privacy and dignity. People were treated as individuals and staff supported them in line with their preferences. Staff responded to people in a timely way to minimise any distress or discomfort.

There was adequate staffing to meet people’s needs at the time of the assessment.

Care plans were not up to date; however, staff knew people well which meant their care and support needs were effectively met. The provider told us reviewing all care plans was a priority and one-page profiles were in place in the interim to provide an overview of people’s needs and preferences. The provider sent evidence of care plans that had been reviewed. These were person centred and detailed people’s care and support needs.

Safeguarding referrals were made efficiently and shared with relevant professionals in promptly. People were protected from harm by a staff team who understood the importance of upholding robust safeguarding practices.

At the last assessment, the provider was previously in breach of the legal regulation in relation to safe care and treatment, person centred care and good governance. Although some areas had improved, breaches were found in relation to good governance. Systems and process had improved since the last assessment; however further work and embedding of the changes were required to ensure that the changes were established at Radcliffe Manor House.

This service has been in Special Measures since 19 August 2025. The provider demonstrated improvements had been made. The service is no longer rated as inadequate overall or in any of the key questions. Therefore, this service is no longer in Special Measures.
