We have undertaken a comprehensive inspection which means we have reviewed all 33 quality statements. The previous CQC rating for this service was good. Following this inspection, the rating for this service remains good.

We assessed the service against ‘right support, right care, right culture guidance. This was to make judgements whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability or autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence, and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found the service was supporting people in accordance with current guidance.

The service had enough staff to keep people safe. Pre-employment checks were carried out to ensure recruitment was safe. Staff received an induction at the beginning of their employment and continued to have supervisions and training throughout their employment.

There were robust care plans and risk assessments in place. These contained enough information to inform staff how to keep people safe from the risk of avoidable harm.

The service had a range of policies and procedures in place for staff to follow to work towards keeping people safe and keeping the service running smoothly.

Managers supported staff well, they were visible and approachable. The service had regular team meetings, and staff received regular updates about the service, compliance and quality improvement issues.

Managers worked well with external partners to ensure people received relevant care and support. Regular audits and reviews ensured a good standard of care was maintained at the service.

Staff told us they were happy working at Magnolia Court, they felt they were well supported by the management team. A member of staff said, “My manager supports me through supervision, appraisals, training and by being available when I need to raise a concern or ask for support.”
