The service had governance systems to monitor and assess the quality and safety of the service. However, some development was needed to ensure systems effectively identified areas for review such as, documentation being accurately completed and amended as appropriate. For example, incident and night checks forms. There were no provider level checks and improvement plans did not encompass areas of the service other than the environment. Some environmental risks had not been assessed.
The service had a positive and open culture. The management team were visible, actively involved and approachable. People and families could raise any concerns. Feedback was regularly gathered through surveys and feedback and was overall positive.
We assessed the service against ‘right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
