We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities most people take for granted. We found people were supported in accordance with this guidance.

The provider understood and responded to people’s needs. Staff treated people with kindness, dignity and respect and knew them well. People were involved in the daily activity within the home and made choices regarding their support.

Staff understood how to keep people safe and the service managed risk well. Staff provided person centred support which enabled positive outcomes to be achieved. Staff felt valued and supported. The provider monitored risks and acted promptly when issues were identified.

The provider ensure people were supported to access communities beyond the location and recognised the importance of people having access to a variety of activities, opportunities and environments. For example, visiting local cafes and shops in the local community, attending pottery classes and coffee mornings.

Staff worked well with relatives and external professionals through effective communication and shared responsibility. The service was generally well led with systems in place to support staff development, monitor quality and respond to feedback.
