What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 7 November 2025 (assessment visit 14 July 2025). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Date of assessment: 23 to 31 July 2025. Fairview Court Care Home is registered to provide accommodation, nursing, and personal care. The service provides care and support to up to 81 older people, some of whom are living with dementia. At the time of the assessment, there were 73 people using the service. At our previous inspection, published July 2018, the service was rated good. We carried out a targeted inspection, published April 2021, relating to infection prevention and control, no concerns were identified. We conducted this assessment in part due to concerns raised in relation to people’s safety. We did not find evidence people were at risk from these concerns. However, the provider was in breach of the legal regulation relating to good governance. We assessed 18 quality statements in the safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led key questions. The ratings for the quality statements we did not assess remain unchanged. The overall rating for the service has remained good. Our observations of the care provided were positive, and people and their relatives told us they were satisfied with the service. The provider assessed and managed the risk of infection, and the premises were well maintained. Staffing levels were sufficient to meet people’s needs, and staff spoke positively about their roles and felt supported by the registered manager. The provider was actively addressing recent shortfalls identified, and work was ongoing to implement and embed improvements. However, governance systems were not always effective in monitoring and improving the quality of the service, in relation to incident management and people’s risks. We asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
