What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 18 June 2025 (assessment visit 2 May 2025). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Eastbury Nursing Home is a ‘care home’. People in care homes receive accommodation and nursing or personal care as a single package under one contractual agreement. Eastbury Nursing Home is a care home with nursing care. CQC regulates both the premises, and the care provided, and both were looked at during this inspection. The service is for up to 20 adults who have physical and mental health needs. At the time of our assessment, 18 people were living at the service with some people living with a mild learning disability.
Date of assessment: 14 May 2025. This assessment was carried out due to the length of time since the previous assessment in September 2019. The last rating for the service was good. At this assessment, the rating remains good.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
Risks related to a person’s health and wellbeing were identified and risk management plans were developed to provide staff with guidance. Medicines were administered as prescribed, safely and following best practice. The provider had a clear recruitment process with staff receiving support through regular one to one supervision and team meetings. Staff completed a range of training courses to ensure they were up to date with best practice. People’s care needs were assessed and regularly reviewed. Staff felt supported by the manager, senior staff and were confident in raising any concerns. The provider had an effective quality assurance process which enabled the provider to monitor the service and identify any improvements.
