The assessment took place between 21 October 2024 and 25 October 2024. We visited the service on 21 October 2024. During this assessment we inspected quality statements under the key questions of safe, responsive and well-led to check the provider had followed their action plan to make improvements following our previous inspection.
We found the service had made improvements and the provider was no longer in breach of regulations. The rating has changed from requires improvement (published September 2022) to good.

Safe
Good
People were safe and protected from harm, procedures in place meant risks were managed well. There were enough staff who were skilled to provide care and support. People received medicines as prescribed. Lessons were learnt from events within the home. Infection prevention and control measures were robust.
People can only be deprived of their liberty to receive care and treatment when this is in their best interests and legally authorised under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA).
In care homes, and some hospitals, this is usually through MCA application procedures called the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). We checked whether the service was working within the principles of the MCA, whether appropriate legal authorisations were in place when needed to deprive a person of their liberty, and whether any conditions relating to those authorisations were being met.
-
Responsive
Good
People were supported by staff who worked to achieve the best outcomes for them, working in partnership. The registered manager and staff worked to ensure everyone received information in the way they preferred, and alternatives were available. Barriers to communication were recorded and shared as required. Equality and diversity were considered, and the principles underpinned each policy and procedure within the home. Everybody’s views were sought and listened to formally and informally. For example, opportunities for everyone to be included were varied. Staff actively worked towards collaboration to ensure everyone’s voice was heard.
-
Well-led
Good
Leadership was visible. Processes operated to ensure the service ran safely. People and staff had confidence in the management of the service and felt included in decisions made.
There was an inclusive and positive culture of continuous learning and improvement. This was based on meeting people’s needs. Good, well established, links had been made with external professionals.
