Date of assessment 21 October 2025 to 5 November 2025. We completed this assessment to follow up on concerns received about the service and because of the rating of the service. We carried out a comprehensive assessment. Lindau Residential Home is a residential care home providing accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care. The service was not providing nursing care at the current time, people's nursing needs were met by community nurses. It can provide care for up to 37 people. The service is registered to provide support to older people, younger adults and people living with dementia. At the time of our assessment 35 people lived at the service.

At our last assessment the provider had failed to manage risks effectively; failed to assess needs effectively; and failed to have effective systems in place to assess, monitor and improve the quality and safety of the service. They had also failed to notify us of DoLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) authorisations and applications.
At this assessment some improvements had been made. The provider had improved assessments of people’s needs and had notified us appropriately of DoLS authorisations. However, we identified breaches of regulations relating to medicines management and risk management. There had been a lack of management oversight of constipation risks because systems had not been embedded to review bowel charts for people who suffered with constipation. We also identified a breach of regulation in relation to governance at the service. Staff had attended safeguarding training and understood their responsibilities to report any safeguarding concerns. We observed there was enough staff on shift to support people. The building had been maintained, during the assessment we identified some further repairs, these were actioned by the registered manager. People’s rooms were personalised. Before people moved into the service their needs were assessed. Staff worked with health professionals to ensure people got the care and support they needed. The provider had systems and processes in place to promote and support staff wellbeing.
