What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 21 August 2025 (assessment visit 12 May 2025). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Date of assessment: 29 May 2025 to 30 June 2025. Walton Manor is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care to up to 47 people. At the time of our assessment, there were 42 people living at the home. This assessment was prompted by concerns we had received about the service. During the assessment we found the provider could not demonstrate that there was an effective system in place to determine the number of staff needed on shift to meet people’s needs effectively. We received feedback from relatives and staff that there was not enough staff on shift. We found people were being deprived of their liberty without appropriate authorisations in place and medicines were not managed safely. The provider did not have effective governance systems in place to monitor the quality of the service and find the concerns identified on assessment. We identified 4 breaches of legal regulation in relation to safe care and treatment, safeguarding service users from abuse and improper treatment, staffing and good governance. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment. We observed positive interactions with people and received positive feedback about the activities on offer.
