What inspectors found

From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 26 June 2026 (assessment visit 4 March 2026). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.

The assessment started on 13 May2026 and was completed on 1 June 2026.

People were supported by staff who understood their needs well and worked collaboratively with health and social care professionals to ensure care was coordinated and responsive. There were effective systems in place to assess, plan and review care, using recognised tools and clinical input to support positive outcomes. This included proactive monitoring of people’s health and risks, with evidence of early intervention to prevent deterioration and avoid hospital admission.

The provider had a clear focus on learning and continuous improvement. Incidents were reviewed, lessons were shared, and changes were implemented to improve safety and outcomes. This was particularly evident in areas such as falls management, where targeted interventions had resulted in a significant reduction in falls.

Staffing levels were sufficient to meet people’s needs and staff were appropriately trained and supported. Recruitment processes were safe, and staff described a positive working culture with strong teamwork and approachable leadership. This contributed to a stable workforce and continuity of care for people.

Governance systems were well established, with regular audits, monitoring processes and clinical oversight in place. However, these were not always fully effective in identifying all areas of risk, particularly in relation to medicines management. In addition, aspects of the environment were not consistently adapted to meet the needs of people living with dementia, including limited orientation and signage.

The service was well-led overall, with a clear, open and supportive culture. Leaders were visible, approachable and committed to improvement. They worked in partnership with families, the local community and professionals to support people’s care and wellbeing. Across the service there was clear evidence of strong teamwork and established governance arrangements, which contributed to consistent outcomes for people.
