The last rating of the service was requires improvement (published 25 March 2024) when we identified breaches of Regulations relating to person-centred care, safe care and treatment, staffing and good governance. We told the provider to make improvements. This assessment was conducted to follow up on their action plan. While the provider has been working on their action plan not enough improvements have been made and they were still breaching Regulations relating to safe care and treatment, staffing and good governance. We have asked the provider to complete new action plans to tell us about further improvements.

Medicines were not always managed effectively. Staff did not always have the plans to help them manage risks and support people who became anxious and acted in a way which impacted others. There were not always enough staff deployed to meet people’s needs. The provider had systems to identify and monitor when things were not working and for improving the quality of care. However, these had not always led to enough improvements.

People’s needs were assessed and planned for. The staff were appropriately trained and were kind, caring and supportive. Staff knew people well. The provider worked closely with other professionals to deliver person-centred care. People received good support with their nutrition, health needs and personal care.
