The provider had a range of audits and checks designed to monitor and improve quality at the service. However, some of these were not robust enough to identify the issues we found during this inspection in relation to risk mitigation plans, medicines management, and call bells response time records. In response to our feedback, the registered manager had started making improvements and sent us evidence to show that they had addressed most of these issues. The registered manager and staff demonstrated a willingness to working in partnership with relevant agencies to provide good quality care to people.
There were enough staff to keep people safe and meet their needs. People lived in a safe, clean and well-maintained environment. The provider had systems for investigating and responding to accidents, incidents, complaints and safeguarding concerns.
The provider assessed people’s needs, choices and preferences. People were involved in the development of their care plans and took part in reviews as and when required. The registered manager and staff worked with external healthcare professionals to make sure people’s needs were monitored and met. People were able to make choices and consented to their care.
