What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 28 November 2024 (assessment visit 20 September 2024). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
The Old Rectory is a care home providing personal and nursing care for up to 36 people. At the time of our inspection there were 32 people using the service. Some people were living with dementia. The assessment was carried out due to concerns we had received regarding care provided. We carried out our on-site assessment on 15 October 2024. We asked the registered manager to forward some documents to us for review off site. The inspection ended on 30 October 2024. We looked at the quality statements in Safe and Well-Led. Since our last inspection the service has continued to provide a good quality of care and support for people.

Safe
Good
Systems were in place to protect people from the risk of abuse. Staff told us they received training in safeguarding and knew what actions to take if they suspected abuse. The service worked within the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) and if needed, appropriate legal authorisations were in place to deprive a person of their liberty. Any conditions related to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) authorisations were being met. We found there were sufficient staff on duty to meet people’s needs in a timely way. Staff showed compassion and were caring in their interactions with people. The environment was clean and infection prevention and control measures promoted people's safety.
