People were supported by kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable staff who understood their needs well and promoted dignity, independence, and choice. Effective systems were in place for safeguarding, medicines management, infection prevention control, and partnership working with healthcare professionals, ensuring people received safe and coordinated care.
Leadership within the service had strengthened, with a more stable and visible management team driving improvements in oversight, governance, and quality assurance. Staff and relatives spoke positively about the manager’s open and responsive approach, which had helped to build a more inclusive and supportive culture.
However, some areas required further improvement. Staffing levels were not always sufficient to consistently meet people’s needs, particularly during busy periods, which impacted the delivery of timely care and meaningful engagement. Person-centred care was not always consistently embedded, and opportunities for activities and stimulation—especially for people living with dementia—were sometimes limited. During the inspection the provider took action to address this and increased staffing levels.
