We found the following examples of good practice.
Family members were not able to visit due to an outbreak of COVID-19 in the home and people were not able to attend the day centre they enjoyed. Staff arranged regular video calls to ensure people could maintain contact with family and their friends from the day centre.
People were supported, through the use of individual communication aids, to understand the restrictions on visitors, social distancing and the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
People were involved in identifying activities to promote their wellbeing. The provider arranged a cheese and wine evening and a beach day where a beach was made in the garden including seaside cutout boards and fish and chips.
Amendments were made to staff working patterns when necessary to ensure people continued to receive the support they required.
