We found the following examples of good practice.
All staff and people living at the service received regular COVID-19 testing. Appropriate processes were in place and followed should anyone display symptoms of COVID-19.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) was provided for visitors and access to hand washing facilities were available upon entry. Appropriate screening and testing were in place to help minimise the risk of infection.
The service was clean and well ventilated with social distancing being promoted across the service. Staff followed an enhanced cleaning regime which was recorded daily.
Staff wore PPE to minimise the risk of COVID-19 infection transmission. Training was provided which included donning and doffing PPE and infection control.
In the event of an outbreak the service had plans in place to reduce the risk to others. People would be supported to isolate in their rooms and additional guidance would be sort from other professional bodies.
There was an up to date IPC policy in place which was available to all staff.
