The provider needed to develop its learning culture and how it monitored the quality of documentation. While staff knew people well, including their care needs and preferences, care plans and risk assessment were of poor quality which did not reflect people’s current care needs in a clear way. Improvements were needed around the lunch time experience to make sure people knew what was available and make an informed choice. We found governance and management systems were not robust and opportunities were missed to identify where improvements could be made.

The provider was in breach of the legal regulation relating to managers having good oversight of the quality of care and ensuring documentation was kept to a high quality.
