We found the following examples of good practice. ● Arrangements were in place for relatives and visitor's to access the service safely. These included temperature checks and personal protective equipment [PPE]. There was a visitors room for relatives to use which was accessed by a separate entrance to the service. ● The service was very clean. We observed regular cleaning of all areas taking place. Cleaning schedules were in place and showed the frequency of cleaning undertaken, including regular cleaning of high touch point areas and deep cleaning . ● People had been encouraged to keep in contact with family and friends with telephone calls and other electronic devices. ● People were admitted safely to the service. The registered manager confirmed they were following government guidance and all new admissions were isolated in their rooms for 14 days. ● Staff were following government guidelines for the use of PPE and good infection control practice. PPE was available throughout the service for staff to access. ● Infection control audits took place regularly to make sure the service was compliant with current guidance and practices. ● Staff and people using the service had risk assessments in place to ensure risks in relation to COVID-19 were identified and managed safely.
