There was a positive culture among staff and leaders who were passionate about the care they delivered, and supporting people to have the best possible quality of life. People were supported to have choice, remain independent, take part in the things that mattered to them and to stay healthy and well.

Staff were recruited safely, had received appropriate training and were knowledgeable about the people they supported. They treated people with kindness and compassion and were supported by leaders who had the same values and cared about the wellbeing of their staff.

People’s care was planned alongside them and regularly reviewed to ensure it continued to meet their expectations. There were detailed care plans shaped by professional advice which set out how people’s health and care needs could be safely managed.

There was strong leadership in place who led by example, were accessible and committed to ongoing leaning and improvement. They had robust governance systems to monitor the care being delivered to ensure it was being delivered safely.

People received the support they needed, when they needed it. This included managing their health needs, managing their medication and wider support such as with food preparation. We did identify some minor improvements were needed to staff knowledge of safeguarding procedures and consent arrangements.

We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ (RSRCRC) guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. The provider was registered to provide support to people with a learning disability and autistic people, however, their knowledge of the RSRCRC guidance was limited. The provider was responsive and planned to address this shortfall.
