The provider assessed people’s needs and reviewed them regularly, helping them to achieve positive outcomes. Staff monitored people’s health and wellbeing and supported them to eat and drink as per their care plans. They asked people for their consent before providing care and support.

Staff treated people with kindness, respect and compassion. They enabled people to take part in their preferred activities while promoting their independence. When people became anxious or distressed, staff knew how to respond to minimise the impact on their wellbeing.

People received personalised care and support. Along with their relatives, they were involved in care planning and were supported to raise any concerns. Staff protected people from discrimination and acted in their best interests.

The provider operated systems to monitor the service and check that they were providing good quality care. They collaborated with other professionals in ensuring people received effective joined-up care and support. There was an open and inclusive culture that promoted continuous learning.

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
