Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 25 September 2026 - 12 October 2026. This service was previously rated as good. We carried out this assessment to confirm whether the rating of good remains accurate. This report does not provide detailed information on areas where we found practice continues to meet a good standard. Instead, our findings focus on any areas where the service needs to improve or where we found exceptional practice.
People received person-centred care from staff who knew them well and understood their individual needs and preferences. Care plans provided detailed guidance about how people wanted to be supported, including their routines, communication needs and choices. Staff promoted people’s independence and respected their preferences.
People were involved in their care and the provider regularly sought their views. Feedback was listened to and acted upon, including making changes to call times when requested. Staff worked with healthcare professionals to support people’s health and wellbeing, and professional feedback about the service was positive.
Staff understood their safeguarding responsibilities and felt able to raise concerns. There were systems to support and monitor staff, including training, supervision, competency checks and spot checks. Some improvements were needed to ensure training and supervision remained up to date for all staff.
The provider had a range of quality assurance systems in place and responded positively when improvements were identified. Some improvements were required to mental capacity and best-interest records and to strengthen aspects of governance and oversight. The provider was open and responsive to our findings and had already identified and begun addressing some areas, including introducing a new system to provide a more accurate record of when staff arrived at and left people’s homes.
