This was the first inspection of the service and we reviewed all quality statements. Our overall rating for this service is good.
The provider demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led support. Assessments of people’s needs and the risks they faced informed care plans and guided staff in practice. These assessments were regularly reviewed to reflect any changes and people and their relatives were actively involved in decisions about the support they received.
Staff knew people well and understood the importance of providing person centred care, respecting people’s wishes and promoting their independence. Staff knew how to seek consent, including when people could not communicate this verbally. The staff we spoke with were compassionate and positive about their role. We received positive feedback about the organisation, staff and leaders.
Staff were recruited safely and received appropriate training, and they were supported with regular supervision.
The management team were keen to ensure best practice was always followed, and there was a culture of quality care and ongoing development. Robust governance and assurance systems supported the delivery of safe and consistent care, and the registered manager was actively involved in all aspects of the service.
