What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 6 November 2026 (assessment visit 16 September 2026). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Edora Care Plus is an extra care service providing personal care and support to people living in their own flat within an extra care setting. The assessment considered the regulated activity of personal care and reviewed how the provider had responded to previous concerns, strengthened oversight and improved the quality and safety of care. At the time of the assessment 38 people lived at the extra care scheme and 18 people received the regulated activity of personal care.
The service supports adults with a range of needs, including older people, people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, sensory needs, long-term health conditions and people who require support with mobility, nutrition, continence and medicines.

We reviewed care plans, risk assessments, medicines records, call-monitoring information, incident and safeguarding records, complaints and compliments, staff recruitment and training records, supervision and spot-check records, governance audits, the service improvement plan and information supplied by the registered manager.
We carried out this assessment on 21 September 2026 to 27 October 2026. This service was previously rated as good. We carried out this assessment to confirm whether the rating of good remains accurate. This report does not provide detailed information on areas where we found practice continues to meet a good standard. Instead, our findings focus on any areas where the service needs to improve or where we found exceptional practice.
The provider had strengthened its systems through electronic care records, electronic medicines administration records, call monitoring, monthly audits, incident analysis, tenant meetings and a service improvement plan. Complaints, safeguarding concerns and incidents were investigated, and learning was shared through meetings and supervision. People and relatives gave positive feedback about staff kindness, competence and responsiveness.
Some improvements were not yet fully embedded. Care-plan and risk-assessment documentation was inconsistent in parts; recurrent falls required clearer evidence of timely review and strengthened controls; some call-monitoring records showed late visits; training and staff-file audits contained outstanding actions; and governance records did not always demonstrate completion, effectiveness or sustained risk reduction. These shortfalls did not indicate widespread or systemic failure, but they required continued management oversight. During the assessment the registered manager provided us with assurances and addressed the issues shared with them swiftly. We had no evidence that due to the shortfalls mentioned above people who used the service came to harm.
