What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 29 June 2026 (assessment visit 25 February 2026). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
This assessment took place from 09 March 2026 to 12 May 2026.
During the assessment, it was identified that the service was providing support to an individual with a learning disability. The provider was advised of their responsibility to notify the Commission and update their Statement of Purpose accordingly, which they have since completed. We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. The provider was not aware of the ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance.

The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulation in relation to governance and safe care. Improvements were not found at this assessment, and the provider remained in breach of these regulations. Not all people had always received safe care and support. We identified issues with medicines management, risk assessment and quality assurance. These issues had put some people at risk of potential harm. However, we found no evidence anyone had been harmed.
Incidents were not always recorded which meant lessons were not always learned.
People’s care records reviewed either did not fully assess or clearly plan for how to mitigate risks. There were multiple areas where key risk assessments or detailed guidance in people’s care plans were missing or incomplete, including for skin integrity risks and risks associated with people’s health conditions.
The provider had not always taken sufficient timely action to drive improvement in all areas of the service. Governance arrangements remained inconsistent and had not been fully effective in identifying or addressing ongoing risks. As a result of our findings the registered manager updated the governance systems. There had not been time for the new system to be embedded during this assessment.
Leaders were mainly receptive to feedback and demonstrated a willingness to learn and improve. Action was taken promptly during the assessment to begin to address the issues found.
The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulation in relation to people being treated with dignity and responding to complaints. Improvements were found at this assessment, and the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations.
The provider treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion. People were treated with dignity and respect. Staff responded to people’s immediate needs and acted to minimise discomfort. The provider cared about the wellbeing of their staff, which staff reiterated.
Feedback from people and relatives about the service were mainly positive. People told us they felt safe, and staff knew how to safeguard people. There were systems and processes in place to support staff to work in partnership with other relevant professionals to meet people’s needs. Staff knew people well and spoke confidently about their roles and responsibilities.
People were protected from infections.
In instances where CQC has begun a process of regulatory action, we may publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded, if the action has been taken forward.
