What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 19 May 2026 (assessment visit 26 February 2026). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Date of inspection 7 April to 9 April 2026.
SureCare Rugby is a domiciliary care agency registered to provide personal care to people in their own homes. The service is registered to provide support to children aged 4 to 18 years and younger and older adults. Some of whom are living with dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities, sensory impairment and people with learning disabilities or autism. At the time of our inspection the service was providing the regulated activity of personal care to 41 people, some of those people received 24-hour care and support. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspects the service being received by people provided with personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided.

The last rating for this service was good (report published 07 November 2017).
We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found the service met these principles.
Quality and monitoring systems were in place to monitor the safety and quality of the service. However, some improvement was needed to ensure medicines were consistently managed in line with the provider’s policy and procedures. Medicines audits and checks were not always effective as they failed to identify some of the issues we found regarding protocols not being in place for all prescribed medicines. The management team were receptive to our feedback and took immediate action to address this during the inspection.
Risks associated with people’s care were assessed and staff understood their responsibilities to keep people safe. Care records informed staff, for example if a person had capacity to make their own decisions or not. Staff supported people in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.
The staff worked in partnership with other professionals to achieve good outcomes for people. Staff were recruited safely and felt valued and supported by the management team and enjoyed working for the provider.
