At our last inspection the service was rated good, at this assessment the service remained good.

We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

People told us they felt safe and supported by staff, describing them as kind, caring and respectful. Care was delivered in line with individual preferences, with emphasis on promoting independence, dignity and choice. Staff understood safeguarding processes, risks were assessed and mitigated, and there were effective systems in place to learn from incidents. This contributed to improved outcomes for people.

The service had sufficient numbers of suitably trained staff to meet people’s needs. Staff received a wide range of training and ongoing support, including regular supervision and team meetings. Staff spoke positively about their roles and the support they received from management. Safe recruitment processes were in place, and people were matched with staff who knew them well. This supported continuity and consistency of care.

Care and support were effective and coordinated, with staff working alongside health and social care professionals to meet people’s needs. People were supported to maintain their health and wellbeing, attend appointments and make informed decisions about their care. Communication systems were effective, and care plans reflected people’s preferences.

The service demonstrated a positive culture with approachable and supportive leadership. Governance systems, audits and action plans were in place to monitor quality and drive improvement. Staff felt able to speak up and contribute to service development. There was a clear focus on learning, inclusion and continuous improvement.
