We undertook this assessment due to the time since our last assessment. We looked at 8 quality statements. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
People were protected and kept safe. Staff understood and adhered to their responsibilities to safeguard vulnerable adults. Staff understood and managed risks to people’s safety. However, we identified that window restrictors had been overridden that put people at risk of falling from height. The registered manager took immediate action to address this risk. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. Managers made sure staff received training and regular supervision to maintain high-quality care.
People were treated with kindness and compassion. Staff protected their privacy and dignity. They treated them as individuals and supported their preferences. People had choice in their care and were encouraged to maintain relationships with family and friends. Staff liaised with other health and social care professionals and those important to people to ensure decisions were made in people’s best interests where they did not have capacity
