What inspectors found

From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 15 January 2026 (assessment visit 1 December 2025). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.

Date of assessment: 3 December – 22 December 2025.

Albert Residential Home is a residential care home without nursing for up to 3 people. At the time of the assessment, there were 3 people living in the service. The service is registered to support people over the age of 65, people living with dementia and people living with physical disabilities. As part of this assessment, we spoke with all 3 people and 1 relative.

We conducted this assessment to follow up on the previous inspection (report published 2 November 2020) and due to the time since the last inspection. At this latest assessment, we found the provider had addressed areas from the last inspection and the overall rating of the service is now good.

People received safe care provided by appropriately trained staff. Staff knew how to recognise and report safeguarding concerns. Risk assessments contained information to help staff support people effectively and there were sufficient staff to meet people’s needs. The environment was clean, and the provider undertook regular checks.

People had personalised care plans in place. Care plans included information on how people’s individual day-to-day risks were monitored and how staff supported them in line with their preferences and wishes. Staff supported people to remain safe and encouraged their independence.

Staff felt valued, supported and involved in the service. Staff told us management were approachable, and they felt able to speak up when they needed and felt able to contribute to staff meetings.

Incidents and accidents were analysed and looked at to reduce the risk of them happening again. The registered manager carried out a range of audits of the quality and safety of the service.

The registered manager worked well with local partners and ensured they were aware of national best practice guidance. The registered manager listened to feedback we provided.
