Caring
Good
Staff at the home were caring and compassionate. People told us staff were extremely kind and friendly and most relatives told us they found staff to be approachable. We saw happy and relaxed interactions, on both assessment days, between staff and people they supported. People had choices in how they were spending their time. People’s friends and families could visit without any current restrictions.
-
Responsive
Good
People and their relatives were involved in planning and making shared decisions about their care and treatment. Care plans provided guidance for staff on how to provide care and support to people. Staff were open and friendly with us whilst we were on site. Managers and staff worked well with other healthcare professionals but were aware there were further improvements needed in some areas. There were policies and procedures in place to ensure people were treated with respect and staff followed human rights principles as well as ensuring the service maintained confidential personal information and records in line with national guidance and legal requirements
-
Well-led
Good
Systems to assess and monitor the quality and safety of the service were in place. Regular checks and audits ensured safety and compliance. However, these needed further development to ensure they comprehensively identified and managed risks. People were supported to access different healthcare settings where information was shared with professionals, to ensure people’s needs were met. The provider and management team had improved policy and procedures which related directly to the service, in line with current legislation. There was further work to be done in developing, improving and maintaining links with some visiting professionals and in developing the staff team as a whole. The provider employed a multi-cultural and diverse workforce, and measures were in place to ensure staff were treated fairly.
