We identified some infection control issues and whilst there were enough suitably qualified staff available we identified a deployment concern during the assessment. This was addressed by the management team promptly when we pointed this out to them. Staff told us they were supported in their roles.
People felt safe and protected from avoidable harm. Safeguarding processes were robust, and staff were confident in reporting concerns.
Assessments of people’s needs were conducted prior to people moving to the service. Staff worked well with external professionals to ensure continuity of care. Staff showed a good knowledge of how to support people in line with the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
Staff treated people with kindness, dignity, and respect. Staff knew people well and promoted their independence. Care plans were regularly reviewed and involved people and their relatives if required.
Staff we spoke with felt safe to speak up, and listening sessions were held by the provider to provide additional support to staff. Governance systems were in place, with audits and oversight ensuring quality and safety.
