Stoneyford Care Home was last rated good (published 4 May 2025). The assessment was carried out due to concerns surrounding staffing and care delivery. This responsive assessment focused on 2 key questions, safe and well-led due to the concerns raised. The scores for these areas have been combined with scores based on the key question ratings from previous inspections.

Staff were recruited safely, and the provider was actively recruiting for staff at all levels to ensure people were supported as the capacity of the home increased. Staffing levels were safe for staff who provided care, but the provider acknowledged there were gaps in staffing for domestic and laundry staff. Most care plans contained detailed information about the needs and wishes of people and staff where knowledgeable about people’s needs and knew how to support them. However, we identified some gaps within care plans in relation to person centred information and guidance for mental capacity assessments. The provider took immediate action to ensure these were reviewed and planned training for staff to ensure they received further development in this area. Records reviewed showed people received their care in line with their care plan and medicines were managed and administered safely.
