What inspectors found

From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 22 March 2024 (assessment visit 1 February 2024). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.

An assessment has been undertaken of a specialist service that is used by autistic people or people with a learning disability. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. At our assessment we found South Avenue were meeting the principles of right support, right care, right culture. South Avenue is a 'care home' that provides care and support to people with a learning disability and autistic people. People in care homes receive accommodation and nursing or personal care as single package under one contractual agreement. The service accommodates up to 7 people. On the day of the site visit 6 people were living at the home.
