People received safe care. however, we found that improvements were required in relation to formal supervision and the organisation of governance records. Leaders responded immediately to our feedback and took appropriate action.

People were protected from avoidable harm. Risks to people's health, safety and wellbeing were generally identified and managed, and staff understood their responsibilities to safeguard people. Some improvements were needed to ensure risk assessments, monitoring records and oversight processes were consistently completed and documented. Staff were recruited safely and medicines were managed safely.

Staff knew people well, respected their choices and preferences, and supported them to maintain their independence and wellbeing. People had access to healthcare services when needed and were supported by a stable staff team that worked effectively with other professionals to ensure their needs were met.

People received person-centred care that reflected their preferences, choices and individual circumstances. Staff responded to people's changing needs and worked with healthcare professionals to promote continuity of care. Some care records required further development to ensure people's future wishes and end-of-life preferences were consistently documented.

The service was led by a committed registered manager who had identified areas for improvement and had started implementing changes to strengthen oversight and record keeping. Staff spoke positively about the leadership and culture of the service.
