What inspectors found
From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 25 November 2025 (assessment visit 9 September 2025). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.
Strawberry Fields Care Home is a care home providing personal and nursing care to older adults with physical healthcare needs and people living with dementia. At the time of the assessment the service supported 43 people. The last inspection at Strawberry Fields Care Home was published on 6 May 2022 and was rated requires improvement, the provider was in breach of legal regulations relating to safe care and treatment and governance. During this assessment we found improvements have been made and the provider was no longer in breach of any regulations and the overall rating had improved to good. The service was undergoing refurbishment works during our assessment including a new roof and new windows. We observed the maintenance team repairing and painting areas of the home which required attention. Governance processes relating to infection control needed strengthening to ensure these were consistently completed. The registered manager acknowledged there had been a lapse in infection control audits and had a plan in place to address this. We found this had no impact on people living at home and people praised the homes environment. Medicines were managed safely; people received their prescribed medicines from trained staff who knew them well. There were enough staff on duty to meet people’s needs in a timely manner. Staff treated people with kindness and compassion. People were protected from the risk of abuse and neglect as staff recognised and acted upon any safeguarding concerns. Staff felt valued in their roles and supported by the management team. The provider had oversight of the service and invested in the home to ensure improvements were made. The provider’s systems and processes were utilised to highlight and act on areas for improvement. The management team was supported by the providers senior management team to ensure any issues were addressed.
