The provider was previously in breach of the 3 legal regulations in relation to potential risks, as they had not always been assessed, guidance was not always available to staff informing them how to keep people safe, there were not enough staff deployed to meet people’s needs and people’s medicines had not always been appropriately stored or recorded. Care records had not always been reviewed or updated and the checks and audits that were in place had not identified the concerns that were found. Improvements were found at this assessment and the provider was no longer in breach of regulations.

Staff enabled people with support from their relatives to be at the centre of their care, receiving care they wanted and needed, which was reviewed on a regular basis. Staff knew people well and treated them with kindness and compassion, protecting their privacy and dignity. People’s medicines were managed by staff who had been trained and were knowledgeable. People and relatives were given regular opportunities to provide feedback about the care. Staff worked alongside health care professionals to ensure people remained healthy.

The registered manager promoted an open and honest culture where ideas were listened to and acted on. Staff were trained to meet people’s needs whilst receiving regular support and supervision. The management team completed checks and audits to ensure they were providing a high-quality service. There was a development plan in place which detailed further changes and improvements that were planned.
