This assessment was carried out to check whether the provider had complied with the warning notice issued at the last inspection in respect to breaches of regulation regarding safe care and treatment and the governance of the service. We found improvements had been made and all breaches had been met. Some further improvements were required to ensure window restrictors that were fully compliant with current guidance were in place and a safe environment was maintained for people and people's risks were managed safely but these were addressed immediately during the assessment.
The overall rating for the service has changed from requires improvement to good based on the findings of this inspection.

Safe
Good
People told us they were safe and relatives thought they were safe. A safeguarding policy was in place and safeguarding referrals were made when needed. Staff recorded accidents and incidents and patterns and trends were analysed to reduce the risk of reoccurrence. The home was clean. Risks were assessed and clear guidance was in place for staff to mitigate risk to people. Some risk assessments for clinical risks such as diabetes did not always guide staff what symptoms to look for but these were immediately reviewed and amended in order to maintain people’s safety. Some windows were not secured with tamperproof restrictors as required by current guidance which may have placed people at risk but this was immediately addressed during the course of the assessment. People were supported with positive risk taking. People were supported by staff who were kind and caring and knew how to meet their needs safely. Staff were well trained and underwent competency checks to ensure they maintained the skills to meet people’s needs safely. Medicines were stored and administered safely. Where things went wrong, the provider was proactive in identifying the cause and putting measures in place to reduce the risk of reoccurrence.

Well-led
Good
Staff told us the morale at the home had improved and was now positive. The provider had a clear vision which was shared amongst the staffing group. Despite there not being a registered manager in post at the time of the site visit, staff told us this had not impacted the running of the home as the regional manager and clinical lead were supportive and approachable. Staff felt able to speak up and were given the opportunity to feed back and suggest improvements. The provider worked closely with health and social care partners who indicated they made appropriate referrals and were responsive to guidance given. Effective audit systems were in place which identified any actions needed to improve the quality of the service which were addressed by the provider. The provider had a high level of oversight of the home and systems were in place to identify patterns and trends so action could then be taken to improve care provided to people.
