At the time of our assessment there were 46 people living at the service. The home does not currently have a registered manager. At our last inspection the service was rated good. At this inspection the rating has remained good.

People were treated with dignity and respect by staff who were compassionate, kind and caring. This was reflected in the care we observed. Person-centred care was provided in a way that ensured people had choice and control over their lives. Staff knew people well and responded effectively when people’s health needs changed, collaborating with external healthcare professionals. Staff described the culture as open and felt able to raise concerns with leaders and felt they would be listened to.

People were protected from avoidable harm through robust safeguarding arrangements and risk management. There was enough trained staff within the home to provide safe, consistent care. Leaders supported and encouraged staff to develop knowledge through additional learning. Medicines were managed safely and the environment was clean.

However, the leaders needed to strengthen routine checks so environmental and care plan inconsistencies are identified.

Leaders engaged positive with the assessment and acted promptly on feedback they received. They addressed concerns immediately and discussed ways to make improvements on their governance procedures. These actions demonstrated responsiveness and willingness to improve the home and outcomes for people.
