We carried out an assessment of this service on 16, 17 and 24 October 2024. Breaches of legal requirements were found. The provider completed an action plan after the last assessment to demonstrate how they would improve. We undertook this assessment to check they had followed their action plan and to confirm they now met legal requirements.
The provider had made the necessary improvements, and the service has been rated good.
The new operations manager had made a significant difference, and the provider had invested in the service to support the changes that were required.
The organisation of people's visits was now managed safely. Staff were deployed in sufficient numbers and there was marked difference in people’s experience as a result. People’s visits were on time and there were no missed visits.
Care plans and risk assessments had been redesigned. People now received care that was both safe and person centred. Staff were also more confident as they had clearer guidance on how to support people and how to manage risk.
Staff were recruited safely. We recommended further improvements to ensure all aspects of safe recruitment were managed well.
Medicines management had improved. We recommended further improvements to ensure all aspects of medicines administration was safe.
The service had developed further to ensure there was clearer focus on supporting people to set goals and the service prided itself on being part of the local community. There was a number of initiatives to support people to access the community and also to support local causes.
