What inspectors found

From the Care Quality Commission's assessment published 19 May 2026 (assessment visit 5 March 2026). Quoted under the Open Government Licence.

Date of Assessment: 23 March 2026. Diamond Support Services Limited is a homecare agency providing personal care to children and adults with dementia, eating disorders, physical disabilities, mental health conditions, learning disabilities and sensory impairments. It provides personal care to people living in their own houses and flats in the community. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. At the time of our inspection there were 4 people using the service. This is the first assessment for this registered service. At this assessment the service has been rated good. This was a comprehensive assessment and included all the quality statements across our five key questions.
The provider worked with people and healthcare partners to establish and maintain safe systems of care, in which safety was managed or monitored. Staff shared concerns quickly and appropriately to the management team. They made sure people’s care and treatment was effective by assessing and reviewing their health, care, wellbeing and communication needs with them. The provider supported people to manage their health and wellbeing to maximise their independence, choice and control. People knew how to give feedback and were confident the service took it seriously and acted on it. The service was easy to access and worked to eliminate discrimination. People received care that was fair with equal treatment.
However, the provider did not always make sure staff received regular supervision, appraisals and spot checks. There was insufficient oversight of medicines management in line with current legislation and guidance. Care plans did not always include signatures from people and their representatives as evidence that consent had been sought prior to the provision of care and support. Care plans and risk assessments were not regularly reviewed and updated to ensure the information remained current. The provider took prompt and appropriate improvement actions in response to the concerns identified during this inspection.
We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found that the provider was meeting the principles of Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture. People were supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives, and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests. The policies and systems in the service supported this practice.
